~ My love of holiday decor has definitely grown over the years! It’s come a long way from the Christmas Decor my old roommate, Jenn, and I used to put up at our townhouse in CT (*shout out to Jenn for the tiny American Girl tree that we loved putting up each year! lol).
Two years ago when I spent Christmas visiting my best friend, Verena, in Germany I decided I would start a collection of “sentimental Christmas items” that was meant to grow and be kept throughout my life. I took home special wooden ornaments I found in the markets in Austria and continued to add to my little collection. Last year, I decided to invest in some “forever” Christmas decor items (*I had a hunch that would be my last year in my apartment one way or another). I got an ivory cable knit tree skirt that I love, a small preserved boxwood wreath, a few small ceramic trees, and a pretty amazing starburst tree topper!
I’m happy to report that those items are PERFECT for our new home! I think that decorating our new house for Christmas will be the most special thing and I cannot wait to celebrate the season together.
This year, we have already started gathering together a collection of special things to keep forever. I LOVE this chinoiserie inspired nativity set that I just recieved in the mail! I know it is something we will put up for years to come. We also got a bigger boxwood wreath for our front door (*I can’t wait to share more photos when we are done decorating!).
I hope that you like the guide above and that it helps with your own holiday decorating! This is the absolute EARLIEST that I’ve ever decorated for Christmas. Am I becoming one of those early decorating people?! HEY, it’s 2020, I think anything goes!
Gratefully with love,
