~ Outfit Advent 2020 is here! I decided to revive Outfit Advent (*counting down Christmas with THEMED outfits) this year knowing that perhaps we could ALL use a little extra joy this holiday season as we round out 2020!
Outfit Advent first emerged back in 2012 during my first job in styling! My old boss, Jess, and I put together some pretty fun themes that got everyone excited to dress for work in the morning. I don’t know about you, but when I’m working from home, it takes quite a lot for me to get excited to get dressed. Hopefully this adds a little fun, excitement, and creativity to your December mornings!
I apologize for being a bit more MIA on the first 2 days than planned. I’ve been a little under the weather but am finally feeling up and able to do more things today! I wanted to kick off the calendar with a HUGE bang…but I can PROMISE that the rest of the month will make up for it 🙂
I REALLY would love for you all to participate and have fun with this too! If you do participate, please share on instagram stories and tag me so I can see your looks and share on my story too!
Here are the remaining days broken down:
December 3rd ~ Party Skirt Day! Sharing this look tonight!
December 4th ~ Leopard Printed Day (rawr!)…*side note, you can also wear CHEETAH
December 5th ~ Favorite Movie or TV Character Day
December 6th ~ 70’s Day – I don’t know WHY but all the test shoot inspiration I’ve been pulling for my portfolio is from the 70’s! I’ve been feeling very inspired by 70’s studio editorials, so decided to give this decade a day. Who doesn’t love go-go boots, platform shoes, bright prints, big statement accessories, and colorful shift dresses?!
December 7th ~ Sequins & Chambray Day – this combo will forever be a favorite of mine
December 8th ~ Winter White Day – I’ll ALWAYS be a fan of winter white! There’s nothing more clean and classic.
December 9th ~ “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” Day – YES! This is a Mean Girl’s reference (*still the best movie ever). Wear and share as much PINK as possible 🙂
December 10th ~ Gold, baby, GOLD Day – This is the day to go wild with metallics.
December 11th ~ “I Never Got to Celebrate this Day in 2020” Outfit Day – we’ve all missed out on a lot this year. Today is the day to grab something from your closet that you didn’t get to wear as planned. Wedding guest dress? Actual wedding dress? 4th of July? Birthday? Go for it! Anything is fair game!
December 12th ~ Perfectly Plaid Day
December 13th ~ Taylor Swift Day (any album, any year, any Taylor!) – to be honest, I didn’t think about the significance of the day until after I made this calendar. Each day was mostly chosen at random. It took me until yesterday to realize that I had put this day on the 13th – Taylor’s lucky number (track 13 is always significant on her albums). I had to look it up to double check and found that HER BIRTHDAY IS DEC.13th! WILD.
December 14th ~ Athleisure Day
December 15th ~ Feathers, Fringe, and Frills Day
December 16th ~ Influencer Inspired Day – any influencer big or small! I wanted to give a little love back to the community I feel so fortunate to be a part of.
December 17th ~ Aprés Ski Day – My favorite activity of all time needed a full day of celebration! 80’s ski gear, Bean boots, fair isle sweaters, leggings, Patagonia….wear your favorite version of Aprés!
December 18th ~ MORE is MORE Day! – YOUR interpretation of this day. OVERDO it with accessories, textures, patterns, etc.!
December 19th ~ Tropical Day – Resort Wear, Lilly, Hawaiian prints….go for it!
December 20th ~ “Glitter is my Favorite Color!” Day…sparkle it up!
December 21st ~ Fuzzy or Furry Day – this could go cozy or glam, or perhaps include a bit of both!
December 22nd ~ If it’s not NEON, it shouldn’t BE ON Day – AH a favorite college party theme that’s too good to NOT be carried into adulthood!
December 23rd ~ Party Pants Day – Any interpretation of this…faux leather, sequin, multicolored, bright colored…break out your party pants!
December 24th ~ Red or Green Day – Christmas Eve means getting as festive as possible!
December 25th ~ Pajama Day! I figured that most of us will be getting cozy this year on Christmas, right?!
