Happy Black (and pink) Friday to all! I hope that everyone had as wonderful a Thanksgiving as I did. Our family has a little bit of an unconventional Thanksgiving…we usually go somewhere tropical! This year, I wanted to stay here to pour some extra love into this little blog, so I spent it with my sorority Little’s family in NJ! This isn’t the first time I’ve spent this holiday with other families while my family went away. In college I couldn’t miss exams so spent it with friends in Palm Beach once (so fun!). There was also that other time in college when my passport expired (woops) and I spent it with our close family friends in PA. The last real Thanksgiving meal I had in the US was my first year out of college (no vacation time then!), and I spent it with a wonderful family here in CT (my now boss!)! Sometimes I feel a little odd explaining this to other families. No, we don’t really have a tradition. Nope, I don’t even have a favorite dish. However, this year I couldn’t stop thinking about how blessed I was to be able to share such a special day with another family who opened their home to me! I loved learning about their traditions and meeting their family members and friends. Each year is different for me, but I kind of love the adventure of that, too! I’m SO grateful for friends who include me in their family traditions, wether that be a beautiful holiday dinner, weekend skiing in VT, or tree decorating (and the list goes on!)! And I’m also grateful for my own family who embodies love and fun and prefers tropical drinks over turkeys (I speak the truth)!

SO I LOVE this pink Zara coat, but I’ve linked to another coat that I’ve literally been daydreaming about. I’m a really big fan of mixing a soft feminine piece with a sexy bold piece and do that a lot with skirts and shoes! Studded shoes just make me feel…more confident?! Maybe you’re like me and dreaming about slipping your feet into those Valentino Rockstuds one day. But, until then, I’ve linked to another awesome pair of studded heels above.
