When two of my favorite things combine in one of my favorite places….BOWS AND BIKES!!! More specifically, beach cruisers (certainly no Tour de France or Soul Cycle over here) and seersucker bow shorts! I love these shorts from Lauren James so much! There’s something about seersucker…it may be the most comfortable fabric ever. Also, I think it’s worth noting that a few of my favorite seersucker skirts from high school have withstood the test of time and I still wear them! These shorts are so great, especially to pack for a trip because you can easily dress them up with a silky tank and some cork wedges! And anything with a bow…and I do mean ANYTHING with a bow. YES PLEASE!
Are you all doing anything special for the Derby? It’s my FAVORITE day of the year. I’m always thinking about it(and the outfit that I will wear to the parties) months in advance. I think it’s genetic because my dad get’s equally as excited about this event. I have a few straw hats that I do really love, but I am CERTAIN that I’ve found my new favorite! This straw hat from Marley Lilly (you know, my favorite monogram happy place) will be making an appearance on Derby day as well as coming on every tropical vacation from now on. It’s timeless and so incredibly classic. There’s something about that contrast white trim that bumps it up a notch AND it’s monogrammed. I’m not sure that you could really ask for anything more from a perfect straw hat?!
This post is another special one for me. These photos were taken just off of the Lake Trail in Palm Beach that my best friend Mackenzie and I used to ride our beach cruisers on every week (we had matching bells and baskets and there was definitely a pink speaker that we used to have with us). I still have my pink beach cruiser from freshman year of college…it’s a bit rusty from all of those rides to the beach, but I just can’t give it up (even though my dad surprised me with a new Lilly Pulitzer one when I was interning there!). This beautiful bike trail along the water is one of my favorite places in the whole world! It made me so happy to be back there with my old housemate, Jacki , on my visit!
I hope that your weather is getting as gorgeous as ours is this week, wherever you may be!!! It really FEELS like spring and I think I saw a few blooms today?!
Gratefully with love,
