When I was little, I would only wear “spin dresses.” Meaning that, to pass the test, I had to twirl around in them and their skirt had to fly up just enough(pure joy). This lasted only about 8 years (seriously). Sail to Sable has such beautiful things, and I want ALL of their colorful tunic dresses, but I was absolutely elated to finally find a grown-up spin dress. Also, the cut of this dress flatters every shape, and the placement of the darker navy stripe is genius. I had a lot of adventures in this dress last summer…and I was so excited to pull it out again on our Dominican vacation!
I don’t know, but I think I might have been on to something in my early days of wearing only spin dresses (did I mention pants were off limits?). I don’t think it had anything to do with my retaliation of pants…I think it was the way the dresses made me feel when I wore them, the way they moved, and the way they made me want to dance (because they spun, ok?). Still to this day, sometimes I try on a dress for the first time and I know it’s made for dancing and fun adventures…and sometimes, it passes the spin test.
