~ HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! I hope that wherever you are, and whatever you are doing, that today is a day that you can steal some time away for yourself to practice a little gratitude and reflect on all you are thankful for.
Thanksgiving hasn’t always been an easy holiday for me. My parents have always opted for a tropical vacation (which is awesome!) but when you work in fashion, that often means staying put stateside and fending for yourself. It’s been such a privilege to spend Thanksgiving with other families who have taken me in as their own over the years, but there’s always been a feeling of “AH where do I go!? What am I going to do!?”
I’m happy to report that this year felt really calm and peaceful. I have been SO BUSY back in Columbus and knew I needed to drive back to PA to get my winter things and this was my only chance to grab my ski gear before Germany next month. I really wanted to stay put, have a day to collect my things, and work on the blog! It started off with yoga, and here I am happily working away 🙂
I think that Thanksgiving can be a stressful day for so many people. It’s a holiday that’s far from “instagram perfect” for most of us. Families can be tough! If your Thanksgiving doesn’t involve a spread worthy of Real Simple Mag., I want to recognize that that is ok!
My 2 favorite Thanksgiving memories are totally different. My first is at Curtain Bluff in Antigua, which will always be one of my very favorite places. It was just my parents and I – I had suggested the location after being there for a photo shoot with Vineyard Vines and really connecting with Shelley, the owner <3 Spending it with the staff there felt really special.
My second favorite was in Italy (that post is here!)! I loved cooking for my classmates from all over the world and I think it was special for me because it was extra special for them to experience their first American Thanksgiving meal! I loved cooking for them and sharing that day with them…it made me realize that maybe someday when I have my own family, I want to do the holiday up BIG to make up for lost time 🙂
~ ON to these amazing looks! I mentioned the amazing Michigan based brand, Duffield Lane, in my last post, and can’t stop raving about them. The FIT of everything is amazing and the quality is equally as wonderful. I couldn’t wait to shoot these 2 tops so that I could actually WEAR them ALL the time (and I have been)!
I sometimes struggle to find cute flowy sleeved blouses that I can wear to work and out to dinner, too. It’s even more of a challenge to find a happy price point somewhere between a LOFT and a Milly/Joie silk top. Duffield Lane completely fills in that gap in the best way! So grateful for the chance to feature their beautiful things on here!
A lot of the accessories above are ON SALE for Cyber Week already. Speaking of…be sure to check back later for my Black Friday round up…the first of many posts this week!
~ Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I am SO grateful to have you all following along on this journey.
Gratefully with love,

Both of these tops are beautiful and I just loved how you styled them!! Glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving day- even if it’s not “IG perfect” 🙂 Most days/events aren’t! XOXO
