It’s been a while since I’ve posted (sorry!), but there are just so many fish in the sea and so few days of summer left! (Serious JK on that one) I have been doing more traveling (which I love) and recently just got back from leading a week-long camp on Martha’s Vineyard for my non-profit, which was indeed the high of my summer. I had a cabin full of absolute angels! Anyhow, I usually get inspiration for my looks and daily outfits from a million different places, but it’s not often that I’m inspired by one of my looks to create a costume. At camp, we play a game called “Hunt the Spy,” where leaders dress up in different costumes and hide around the town of Edgartown. After this morning shooting this look with some local fisherman on the water right next to my yacht club, I decided I wanted to dress up as a fisherman…rubber overalls and all. I stood right in the water in Edgartown Harbor and those who happened to be eating lunch at the Seafood Shanty probably thought I was crazy. Long story short…my line got so completely tangled and I ended up asking some of the local fisherman for help. They taught me how to properly cast, fixed my old rod for me, and I ended up loosing track of time, missing the group photo, and fishing with them! I hope the students had fun that day, because I had such a blast!
These J.Crew shorts are amazing! They have an awesome canvas-like texture to them and a stretchy/comfy waistband (which I am ALL about). Sometimes I wear a tee with them and sandals to dress them down, but I decided to pair this flowy Zara top with them to really show off the entire print. The bow heels are MY NEW FAVORITE SHOES…big thanks to my Mommy for surprising me with them! Why are wedges so comfortable?! These are definitely dancing shoes and look-out, they are about to be worn in. Finally, the necklace I have been wearing every. single. day. is from the one and only, Andrea Del Bello. It’s a mother of pearl bar and goes with just about everything but I think it’s more than just a piece you can wear everyday, it somehow always ends up being the icing on top of every outfit!
So, I may be a better stylist than I am a fisherman…but the highlight of my fishing experiences have been the locals that I met in both spots who were so willing to teach me what they knew. I think I’m ok with fishing and not catching fish as long as I can make some new friends each time 🙂
Gratefully with love,
