The Furniture I’ve Bought So Far…Because Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day…
~ WELCOME to the first episode (*ahem, blog post, whatever) of Glitter Upper! I’m your host, Rhiana. Follow me as I effortlessly decorate my beautiful new apartment I learn how to use a drill, take many hours to assemble furniture, and bring you along on a wild decorating journey where I have absolutely no clue what I’m really doing.
If you’ve followed along with the blog for a while, then you probably know that I absolutely love all things interiors and HOME! I love to read about it, watch it on TV (hey Chip and Joanna!), and pin the heck out of it until my eyes hurt almost as much as my heart when I realize I definitely CANNOT (*currently) afford custom upholstered furniture, or Kate Spade frames, or Gray Malin Large prints for my bedroom. I can however provide some entertainment, humor, and hopefully helpful insights along the way!
For this first episode, I wanted to share what I’ve already bought for my apartment. I’ve been here 7 months, but I’ve also travelled quite a bit! I may not have a LOT of furniture yet, however, I have carefully chosen each piece and meant for all of it to live and last for a while.
When I left for Milano over 2 years ago, I really had no intention of returning (*dreams*), and thus I decided to leave a good amount of my things to my WONDERFUL roommate and friend, Martha (and was SO happy to do so!). It was actually a nice feeling to start with a clean slate and get everything from scratch again…however…I totally underestimated how much I had to get now, and how costly it would amount to.
So here we are, 7 months later! Columbus still doesn’t feel 100% like home, and so I’m feeling EXTRA determined to make my little apartment feel like a “Rhi Oasis” of sorts. Besides the below items, I’ve also gotten the classic Ektorp couch from Ikea (*because you can ALWAYS replace that white canvas cover when you spill red wine on it!) and recently purchased the matching storage ottoman to go along with it. It’s a great place to store throw blankets and helps with couch space for an XL 6’2 boyfriend who is a great movie partner-in-crime!
Below are all of the pieces purchased over the past 6 months that I really have loved, including these pink tufted counter stools that I assembled myself and love SO much!

Thanks for following along on this adventure! More to come!
Gratefully with love,
