~ What is it about being in the sun and warmth that makes me what to live in anything white?! This lacey romper is so feminine and so fun to style up. Last summer, I dressed it down for a day party in the city and wore it with an open chambray shirt and flat sandals. But, it’s also perfect for dressing up and dancing! This pink tassel necklace from my amazingly talented friend, Andrea, IS EVERYTHING! And these old J.Crew espadrilles? The best dancing shoes you’d ever hope to have in your life. I kind of always go with the “If you can’t dance in them, don’t buy them” mode of thought….when in doubt, though, buy them and dance barefoot.
I have to be completely honest with you all…I saw this romper on the hanger and thought “that will probably be to revealing on me”….but, lately I’ve been learning that sometimes taking a bit of a risk when it comes to putting together a look can really pay off. Sometimes picking a piece that might not be “you,” but styling it up to make it very “you” can be the best kind of creative fun. For a moment I thought I wasn’t confident enough to wear this, but it turned out it was the look that gave me the confidence. As the Queen B once said, “We have to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves.” So true, B.
Gratefully With Love,
