I’ve always loved a good party skirt. When I was little, similar to my dresses, it had to be pouffy enough to fly up when I spun around to pass the test. Now, I maybe have too many satin party skirts, however I love the challenge of dressing them up for a special event, or adding a tee, chambray shirt, and flats for a more casual date night. I saw this skirt at Lord and Taylor and HAD to have it! Separately, I saw this perfect white crop top and HAD to have it. Now, I am truly not a crop top girl. In fact, recently in a game of “love it or hate it” when I had to choose and crop tops were on the table, I landed with “hate it.” However, I like to think of this look as “Jackie Kennedy does the crop top.” What if?! Can you imagine?! I like to think she might style it similarly with just a peak of skin still covered by a feminine overlay of fabric. It’s funny, I was leafing through my “What Would Jackie Do?” book at home in PA this past weekend (I have an entire shelf of Jackie Kennedy biographies from high school – I’m not kidding). I think if she did the crop top thing, she’d pair it with a classic baby pink party skirt, pointed toe heels (because we can’t all be 5’9), and some vintage earrings.
