~ This pink petal tutu from Anthropologie literally took my breath away when I saw it online. Then I went into the Greenwich store and there were only two left – one in my size (a clear sign that this was meant to be)! Guys, true life confession here: I never really grew out of the “I wear my tutu everywhere” phase of my childhood (hence the reason I danced/figure skated till I was 21). Something about a big, full tutu makes you feel…so feminine and pretty! Last year, one of my first big pinterest DIYs was making sparkle tutus for my nieces. They LOVED them. And well, I kinda loved them too, so I made the same ones for me and my friend Meagan to ski in (yes, I said ski) for the last day of the ski season (Stratton’s Pond Skim for all of you skiers). Skiing in a tutu might have been the happiest day I’ve ever had on the slopes (there are pics of all these DIY tutus on my instagram – @wearbowsandsmile)!!!! There’s something about being in a tutu that makes you more inclined to dance…I swear it’s not just me, that’s a real thing. But, you know what they say: “There are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.” ~ Vicki Baum (and that’s a quote to live by if I’ve ever heard one!)
Gratefully with love,
