I’m so thrilled that ONE of the Pantone colors of the year (yes, there are two!) is my favorite color, Rose Quartz! YAY! There’s something so soft and feminine about it. Some of my favorite pieces that make up the basis of my closet are this color, like this Rose Quartz skirt (above)! To me, it is a timeless color and my favorite gown in the world (by Tibi) is also Rose Quartz and I plan on wearing it forever!
Pantone says that Rose Quartz “conveys compassion and a sense of composure,” and I can only hope that these things ring true as themes for 2016 for us all. The past couple of weeks have been a blur with beginning ski instructing in Vermont and then heading to MD for Staff Meetings for work and I never really had a chance to sit down and reflect on the past year at all. SO much has changed. 27 feels so different. I go out MUCH less and appreciate down time (*ahem, sleep) more than ever. 2015 was a year of health…I completed 2 Whole 30’s and really value going to the gym and doing yoga more than I ever have (this time is now CRUCIAL to my day). 2015 was a year of bravery….I sailed in Croatia on a boat full of mostly strangers, I launched this blog, I took my first SOLO weekend getaway and learned that was “ok” to do. 2015 was a year of finally realizing how I most value my time…catch-up dinners with friends, Skype sessions with loved ones far away, ANY time with my nieces, visits to my parents, quiet time reading, working on this blog. For the first time in maybe ever, I didn’t spend my actual birthday partying like crazy…I spent it on a quiet lake with my two little nieces and it was PERFECT. 2015 was a year of TRUE empowerment and it was the year that I met so many inspiring women, both through this blog and outside of it. These women have made me want to be better in so many ways. So much has happened in one year…truly. I think this is the year that everything shifted and I can only hope that 2016 is full of more bravery, strength, learning, positive change, and endless smiles! I have big hopes and dreams for this year.
