~ I don’t know about you, but all of this time in my apartment has given me a strong desire to NEST and DECORATE! Spring tends to give me that feeling in general, but it’s definitely heightened because of all this staying at home. It’s time for some a SPRING home decor refresh!
Last spring I gave myself a budget, made a spreadsheet, and went to town on making my apartment feel more like “me” and more like a home.
What I’ve realized during ALL of this time at home is that it’s the little pieces of decor that really bring me the most joy. It’s crazy how little things like drying your hands on new hand towels, seeing an art print in a dreary corner, or looking at a framed photo of me and my nieces really makes me so much happier!
I’ve also really paired down the things in my apartment by about 40% (LOTS of space bags!) and organized like never before to get ready for Matt to quarantine with me. After living in a one bedroom studio in Milan, I think that my organizing skills have improved when it, comes to maximizing a small space. I’ve never been so grateful for items like my tufted storage bench! It really elevates my room AND I keep all of my clean extra sheet sets and blankets in there too 🙂
Lastly, I know I can’t be the only one with the urge to feel COZY and SAFE during this uncertain time. Curling up in a soft and cozy throw blanket is exactly the thing we ALL need right now!
Speaking of throws…one of the throw pillows I added to this list is from my friend, Lynne’s store on Greenwich Ave. called Lynnens! She’s one of my favorite people in the world and one of the ONLY small business owners on the Ave. Her store is truly amazing and when I have my dream home, I know where I’ll be going to furnish it. Definitely head on over to her beautiful site!
I hope that you are all safe and well! As I prepare to get back to work (yay!) I feel like I am appreciating these days a bit more? I know I’ll miss spending so much time on a recipe, on a blog post, or going on early evening walks with Matt. I hope that you are all also able to find small ways to turn these lemons into limoncello!
Gratefully with love,
