~ Ruffles, stripes, chambray, and a BOW?! Could this spring wrap dress get any better? I don’t think so! It’s so easy breezy and feminine. I paired it with heels for a dressier look but I can TOTALLY see myself wearing it with gold sandals for a casual day dress in the spring! I’m wearing the size small and it worked out perfectly length-wise for a petite height.
My foldover clutch from Marleylilly is the perfect size for all of my needs and somehow a patterned Navy will always be a neutral for me! I finished this look up by throwing on my Baublebar coral colored earrings which add the perfect pop of color!
I had such a fun day shooting with Madison at the Naval Academy! (see also this post on the water here!) I. LOVE. ANNAPOLIS. It reminds me of college in MD…running to APS to get sailing gear, having dinner at Boatyard (*still my favorite), the Annapolis Boat Show each year, the PINK Crab, pretending I’m back in the BVI’s and having rum drinks at Pusser’s, the croquet match, and so much more…
I have a special place in my heart for Maryland and in particular, SPRING in Maryland. Spring in Chestertown at Washington College was ALWAYS memorable and amazing. Chestertown is gorgeous…it’s set right on the Chester River, surrounded by vast farmland, and is an adorable colonial cobblestone town founded in 1706. It’s more picturesque than the town in Gilmore Girls (which it very closely resembles!). My springs at WAC were FULL of greek life formals (like…every weekend!), parties, day parties, lacrosse games, sailing, raft ups out on the water, STEEPLECHASES, quad golf and farmers markets. That’s just the beginning of where my love for spring in MD began!
After college, I moved to Stamford, CT (outside of NYC) and I was crazy busy with work, but there were always the same events on my calendar each spring: Hunt Cup (a steeplechase), Grand National (another steeplechase), and the Annapolis Boat Show in April. Also, I always have to have a date on the calendar so I know when I will see my close group of friends next (it helps!).
The past few years…it’s been wedding events and of course I loved every second of being a part of those weddings! AND…exciting news…while I was working in Baltimore a couple of weeks ago, my best friend, Sarah (who’s apartment I was making my bachelorette pad for the week!), got engaged! It’s so exciting! SO, I suspect that Maryland will be host to a few more fun wedding events 🙂
Big thanks to Madison for bringing me onto the Naval Academy campus for the first time. Why has it taken me so long to explore that beautiful place?! Boat drinks, Pink Crab, getting into trouble …. other things have pulled me away from this iconic spot and I’m so grateful for the chance I had to see it!
Happy (almost) spring! I say that optimistically as we await a foot of snow tomorrow. Are you as ready for spring as I am?! Below, I rounded up more amazing wrap dresses for spring!
Gratefully with love,
