~ Charleston is really such a magical place. I have been a handful of times, thanks to friends living down there during college and Charleston Fashion Week…but I think this time I really had more trouble leaving then all the times before. I really feel like a permanent gypsy these days as a freelancer and find it pretty easy to detach myself from each place that I work in. There’s something really special about Charleston, though. You can find something beautiful and surprising around every corner (it’s a lot like Milan in that way…maybe I’m on to something here…). Out of all the things I struggle with being back in the states…the lack of inspiration and adventure in my ordinary day-to-day is the BIGGEST struggle. I never got tired of wandering streets, getting purposely lost while stumbling upon a gorgeous alleyway, or feeling like I hit the jackpot every time I snapped a picture of a dreamy pink building. I felt those same feels in Charleston!
My good friend, Amy, flew into Charleston last Friday so that we could both do some work for our blogs during the weekend. It’s pretty rare that you can find someone who you crush work with from 7AM-8PM and still have fun with them and love them even more at the end of the day! I know that it’s rare to have a friend like this in the blogging world…someone so down-to-earth and talented that is always lifting up other women in the industry. SO grateful for my girl boss partner-in crime! (that’s an understatement)
There is SO much to share from our trip! I’ve partnered up with a few favorite brands and can’t wait to show you what they have coming down the line for spring/summer. First, I wanted to share 2 favorites that I suspect MIGHT sell out sooner than others. I know that spring is full of events…weddings, showers, brunches, steeplechases, fundraisers, etc. I am determined to bring you all some wonderful options that will not break the bank!
You know how I feel about pretty details and accessories! I realize that I totally repeated accessories with these looks, but these wedges are so good and under 50! Also, these earrings by Lisi Lerch are my go-to special event earrings – classic yet different and also elegant. This monogrammed bow clutch by Marley Lilly is ABSOLUTELY UNREAL! It’s big enough to put a pair of sandals in (if you like to do that when you wear heels…I have to…) and it’s a softer metallic gold, making it a friendlier metallic to pair with everything.
That’s all for now! I’m in MD freelancing currently and love working here! I also cannot remember the last time I was in the same state for 48 hours…hoping to truly unpack my bags by Monday for a little while!
Sending love and sunshine!
Gratefully with love,
