~ Tee time! Did you know that playing golf is one of my all-time favorite things to do? Truth be told, it hasn’t always been that way…especially when I was the only girl in the summer clinic going through an extreme awkward phase and having trouble making any contact with the ball. However, playing in high school completely changed the game for me. The first few years at boarding school, I played intramural golf with the boys when there wasn’t yet a girls golf team. No matter how badly I played, being off campus and getting to swing away any stress from the day made the WORLD of a difference for me. My senior year, I helped start the girls golf team, and learned so much from the incredible girls I played with from around the world. Finally, the sport started to feel like my own. Now, every time I get to be out on the course, it feels like an incredible gift. Nothing clears my mind (no, not even yoga) as much as golf does!
Back in those early days of being one of the only girls out there, I didn’t want to dress like a boy! I wanted to OWN the fact that I was the only girl, and so I ditched a lot of the golf wear that was available for girls at the time and wore a lot of stretchy Lilly Pulitzer skorts and some tennis skirts. The problem with these? There weren’t enough pockets for my extra glove, extra balls (and I needed A LOT of those back then), or extra tees.
Today, there are much better things available for us ladies to wear on the course, however I think that I’ve teamed up with a few of the BEST brands out there to put together the cutest golf look I’ll ever wear! I finally found some great golf brands that I’ll be sticking with! I love Sydney Elizabeth Golf. SO MUCH. I’m wearing her Newport Skirt in this look! Sydney, familiar with the same struggles I had as a young golfer trying to find cute things to wear on the course, created her brand for women golfers of all ages. Her clothes are for women who are truly in love with the game and want to go out there and win, but still look amazing while doing it (golf clap, everyone!)! Sydney’s prints are as incredible as her designs are practical (just look at all those POCKETS)! This printed skirt is perfect for playing here in CT because I can wear it in the spring, summer, and fall and then wear it out for cocktails afterwards and still look cute.
I’ve also been living in this sleek and athletic cowl neck pullover from Zero Restriction! It’s the softest thing I’ve ever felt. Big thanks to the them for customizing this piece for me and adding my monogram to it (you all know how much I love monograms)! They have such great jackets and layering pieces for those of us pushing our game well into November up here in the North. Also…I’m definitely taking this feminine piece into ski season! Layered underneath is this great classic sleeveless polo from Fairway and Greene. It’s so soft and light, making it great for warm days but I also love how the collar looks peeking out from underneath when layered.
My dad always says “I can’t believe how you drive the ball! If only you practiced more!” Well, all I can say is that years ago I started working out more when I bought a lot of cute work out clothes…so, maybe now that I can look cute out on the course, I’ll be practicing more and more!
Big thanks to Sydney Elizabeth Golf, Zero Restriction, and Fairway and Greene for partnering on this post!
Gratefully with love,
