~ (*before I get to the amazing Thanksgiving day sales…) Well, this year I feel like I have SO much to be thankful for…maybe more than ever! First, I just wanted to thank all of you for following along with the blog. It makes me feel so special to share this journey with you all and it’s all of your shares, comments, likes, encouraging words that keep me going (ok, it might be kind of late right now and I’m breaking from school work for this…)! SO THANK YOU. Grazie mille, from the bottom of my heart!
My “thank-you” list could go on forever, but I think I am most grateful for this amazing opportunity that my parents have given me to get my masters here in Milan, for my nieces and family, for my incredible friends here in Milan, and for my wonderful friends back home who haven’t forgotten about me 🙂 I don’t always share personal photos on the blog, but I really wanted to share some photos from “friendsgiving,” which was more like my real Thanksgiving with my family here in Milan. Friends and family back home often ask if I’m making any friends here. It’s a tough question to answer, because I really do feel like I’ve won the jackpot when it comes to grad school friends! I love ALL of my incredible friends who are from different majors, backgrounds, walks of life, and different countries around the world! This little group below means the world to me, and being able to make them their very first American traditional Thanksgiving dishes was so special. My parents don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving – they love to travel to somewhere warm, and I think that’s wonderful! I just had never really cooked a Thanksgiving dish from scratch or had any recipes passed down. SO this Thanksgiving was a big one for me, because I wanted to find my own recipes and make my own traditions for the first time, but I also wanted to find fresh (gluten-free) ingredients and make it PERFECT for my international classmates who had never tasted these dishes before! It was a special and perfect night…I’ll remember it forever and ever!
~ but first…THANKSGIVING DAY SALES! ~
