~ I’m going to jump right in today! We haven’t even hit the 1 month mark in our new home, but things are starting to slowly come together and I cannot wait to share more with you. In the meantime, I thought I would share with you what we have already acquired for our home! I’m learning SO much and have taken on some additional DIY home projects (*I am saving those for a different day)! Some days it feels like it will never be done, but what I can say is that I have LOVED making this house a home for Matt and I! My passion for interior decor grows by the minute.
If you have any tips or suggestions for quickly unpacking/organizing a new home, please comment below! Alright, let’s start with what we have so far for our 1st floor.
~ 1. Our Dream Extendable Farmhouse Table ~ 2. Dining Room Rug ~ 3. Living Room Rug ~ 4. Statement Chairs ~ 5. Coffee Table
~ I could NOT be any happier with our farmhouse table! It’s exactly what I always wanted and hoped for. I know it will live in every home of ours to come and I can’t wait to host our first dinner party around it! This was a gift from my mom and I am incredibly grateful. It also makes it all the more special! We are still working on the chairs part…we don’t have a kitchen table so this will be our primary place to eat. I want slipcover chairs that we can spill red wine on and wash! I’m working on it.
We have dark gray floors and I really wanted to brighten up the first floor and I think the 2 area rugs we got did just that! The dining room rug is a cream/gray/blue pattern and it looks so perfect under our table! Our living room area rug is inspired by ginger jars. I’m 50% nervous that maybe I picked too busy of a print, but I 50% don’t even care because I LOVE it so much. I’m hoping that once we have our curtains and our love seat in place, it will be more balanced with solid colors and neutrals!
Our statement chairs (we bought 2!) are a bit more gray/navy than cream/navy, however I just love the pattern so much I don’t even mind. I looked for over 2 years in my apartment for a set of blue patterned statement chairs to complete my generously sized living room and never found anything I loved. I knew as soon as I spotted these that we wouldn’t find anything better! I’m so happy we pulled the trigger.
Lastly, a gold and glass-top coffee table is so classic and really a beautiful blank canvas to style however you want! I can’t wait to fill this with colorful coffee table books and other knick knacks. How do you style your coffee table?
~ 1. Upholstered Wingback Headboard ~ 2. Floor-Length Gold Bamboo Mirror ~ 3. Ginger Jar Lamp (VERY similar to ours…same designer. Ours sold out!) ~ 4. Duvet Set ~ 5. Bath Rug Set ~ 6. Night Stand
~ Oh goodness! Our master bedroom is still VERY much a work in progress…as in…we are still sleeping in our guest room!
I REALLY wanted an upholstered wingback headboard. Sometimes I feel like all the tufting is too much (*anyone with me?). We just ordered this headboard for our new king sized bed frame and mattress and I’m worried it might be too short! BUT…I love it.
I think I am MOST excited for our DUVET set to arrive! I looked for a while and while there are so many solid white embroidered duvet sets out there, this one ultimately took the cake! The best part?! IT’S ANTI WRINKLE! The second best part is that we got it for 50% off just for signing up for their e-mail list. While they didn’t have king shams, I ordered the embroidered king pillow cases (from the sheet collection) and a set of euro shams to go on top!
Our master bath is my FAVORITE room in the house. I’m not joking! The shower is amazing and we have a huge “his and hers” sink, which has been wonderful after living in my one bedroom apartment together! I would love bath mats with a Greek key boarder on them in white and navy, however, all 3 mats would be well over $150. No thanks! Then, I found this set of 3 for all the sizes we needed and it was only $44! Score!
~ 1. Whitewash Bamboo Roman Shades ~ 2. Custom Sized Bamboo Roman Shades ~ 3. Pinch Pleat Curtains ~ 4. Gold Curtain Rods
I have learned a LOT about window treatments recently. While we have decided to do a standard blind on most of our windows – I wanted the bamboo roman shades with curtains in the main rooms to elevate the feel a bit! For the windows that have standard blinds, I am making fabric roman shade valances to go on top. We like that we can put the blinds down whenever we are travelling, but my aim is to let as MUCH light into the house as possible!
~ We OF COURSE have many more things on our list, but I wanted to share what we had so far! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and hope to see you back here soon!
Gratefully with love,
