I just got home from lots of travel! Sailing in Croatia > Martha’s Vineyard > New Hampshire > finally back home in CT! I think it’s fair to say that I have the travel bug and I only want to do more of if as much as I possibly can. All this said, I’m still so happy to be back in my happy place wearing this super classic look. White on white might be my favorite combo (even as much as I spill on myself). There’s something about white on white in the summer with a tan…is there anything better?! Also, you can never go wrong when layering a thin chambray – it always seems to make an outfit look a million times cooler with very little effort involved. Then I had to add my favorite striped dancing shoes and voila! Maybe one of my favorite summer outfits!!!
When I was away in Croatia SO much happened (on my favorite TV show, in the world, and in the news). Well, a very well-known publication said some not very nice things about J.Crew – a brand I have always been super loyal to for many reasons including quality, wearability, timelessness, fit, style, ability to keep up (and “wow”) during their fashion week presentations, etc.(the list goes on and on). I think this look is such a testament to their classic pieces that are truly “investment pieces” that last for years to come. Unless I’m styling for a brand, I almost never purposefully try to make an entire look with one brand or designer when personal styling. I had hardly even noticed until I started typing the credits on this post that 95% of my look was J.Crew! Some of these pieces I’ve had for forever (the straw bag might be from high school?)! Now that I’m getting a little older, (oh gosh, that just made me sound old) I really have to loooove something to buy it. “Will this last me more than a year?” is often something I ask myself. I’m giving myself a very small, silent, slow pat on the back for the classic items I’ve purchased over the years from J.Crew that still bring me joy to style with time and time again. #teamJCrew #teamJennatoo
