~ SO, I think that yellow stripes are COMPLETELY underrated, and I would consider myself a stripes connoisseur of such (my roommate is my witness…I have a drawer of JUST striped tees). They are classic and so cheerful! The same day I was trying on this dress, there was a woman in the dressing room who said, “I don’t know about these horizontal stripes…” and without thinking I yelled out “STRIPES ARE NEUTRAL!” from my dressing room a door down. True story. Yellow stripes are just so happy! They are also a great canvas to style fun colors around, like these amazing blue tassel sandals! Yellow = sunshine, happiness, & summer!
There’s a funny story about finding this mural wall. I’m an art minor and I LOVE mural walls, street art, and color! I wanted to splash some of that color on the blog, and so I went in search of a mural wall close to me in CT. I scouted everywhere. Let me repeat…EVERYWHERE! No luck, even in downtown Stamford. I was home for a weekend in PA and asked my mom if there were any mural walls around. As it turns out, there’s this amazing mural artist who helps orchestrate the most BEAUTIFUL mural paintings and gets the whole community involved. Team paintings?! Sign me up! If you live in Berks County, PA, definitely check out the Berks Community Murals group and get involved! Ok, so the best part of finding THIS particular mural wall that matched PERFECTLY with the outfit that I had brought home…..it’s on the wall RIGHT BEHIND my mom’s shop, where I pretty much spent the majority of my childhood. I had been looking all over CT for months and came home to find the most perfect mural wall that I ever could have hoped to find. I hope that you all enjoy this colorful wonder as much as I did!
Gratefully with love,
