~ It’s here! I really enjoy putting together this round up every year. This year, my tips for “trying on” swim will be a bit different! I know that most of us are truly sticking to online shopping for safety reasons, which is great, because what could be more comfortable than trying on swim in your own home?
My friends will attest that I have a swimsuit problem…I LOVE SWIM! I can’t even lift my swimsuit bin and I still can’t get enough. I grew up LOVING going to the beach every summer and no matter what age or stage of life, grabbing a swimsuit always meant for an exciting day ahead!
A few things I always keep in mind when shopping for swim:
~ First thing is first: a swimsuit should make you feel CONFIDENT no matter your size! When you put it on, if you feel even the slightest bit of “ugh,” it means it’s not the right one. Find a style, color(s), and pattern that fits your unique taste. Don’t stop till you find it!
~ FIT is SO important! Certain brands DO fit better than others. I know this isn’t fun to hear….but spending a little more on a suit is well worth the investment. OF COURSE I am a sucker for a cute Amazon under $50 steal too…but they never quite fit PERFECTLY like my others. I’ve heard amazing things about Summersalt swim (*which seems to sell out the moment they re-stock, which is a great sign! ). I haven’t tried them yet, but before they launched, they took over 1.5 million measurements from 10,000 women’s bodies to perfect the fit, which I love! Lilly Pulitzer’s swim is a personal favorite of mine, not just for the prints and designs, but because they truly fit like a glove! Lilly also sells separates to ensure best fit. Another personal favorite for fit is ASOS (*any of the ASOS name brands), which has a friendlier price tag and SUCH cute styles!
~ ORDER A FEW. I think this is important. Order a few sizes and styles, that way if the one you really loved isn’t fitting like you hoped, you have other options and won’t feel discouraged or defeated (*swim and I haven’t always had a happy relationship!). Definitely be sure to check the return policy for a new website, but for the most part, it’s SO easy to return and get a refund for the suits that weren’t keepers!
~Lastly, every single body is different, which is part of what makes us all beautiful! I’ve spent the last few years really thinking more about size inclusivity. I partnered with Swimsuits for All when I lived in Italy (*you can read more about them in that post here), and I kept in mind size inclusivity when rounding up the below swim. I want to make sure that ALL of us feel confident and beautiful no matter our size. A few favorite size inclusive brands: Lands’ End, Swimsuits for All, ASOS (curve AND fuller bust!), and LOFT!
I hope that you ALL find a suit that makes you feel like a GODDESS! Below are my absolute favorites out there right now. Click around and have fun! Happy shopping!
Gratefully with love,
